Please note: In person studio classes are presently on pause due to COVID precautions. We are offering Virtual classes via Zoom. Individual Virtual sessions are 40 min, $30 a session. Or you can buy a series of 4 and get one free. Sessions can be tailored to the topics the student wants to cover. More intensive study requires the purchase of a series of sessions.

Studio members will have first access at sign ups for group classes.

If you are interested in taking your cloth to the next level, Esther offers a number of different garment design classes both in person and online.

Classes for Children:

For Kids

Children's Sessions

Introduce your child to the world of no mistakes creating and weaving play. This 40 minute session gives basic instruction for weaving and the ideas of free and expressive weaving, as well as gives the child enough loom time to make a small hanging to take home. No weaving experience required. $30 includes materials. (16 and under please)

In-Person Virtual Studio Class

One Session - 40 Minutes. No experience required. $30, includes materials. 16 and under please.

Homeschool/Afterschool

Children's Sessions

No beginner or advanced sessions. Children are encouraged to learn from each other. Includes self guided weaving time and gentle technique instruction. 2 hours $40, plus materials*. (16 and under)

One Session - Two Hours. $40 plus materials. 16 and under please.No experience required.

Parent & Child

Parent And Child Session

A shared joyful experience for a parent and child. This session provides two looms with prepared black warps for self guided weaving time and gentle technique instruction.
Students will leave with the weaving they did that session.

In-Person Virtual Studio Class

No weaving experience required. We all learn and grow from each other and there are no mistakes! Two hours at the loom, $75 per session, plus materials*.

This introductory session shares an explanation of the philosophy of freestyle weaving along with time for weaving play on a prepared black warp. Additional Class Details

Woven Heart SAORI Studio is an expressive and creative weaving and fiber studio for adults and children offering individual one on one classes as well as small groups. Classes are offered virtually and in person at the studio by appointment as short classes or longer intensive retreats. We embrace the philosophies of SAORI and concepts of wabi sabi and no mistakes creating by encouraging students to engage in joyful, weaving from their heart. No experience is necessary. We all learn and grow from each other.

Weaving Class Topics Can Include:


- SAORI Warping using SAORI Warping Board

– Beaming and Threading a SAORI warp – using the SAORI tabletop beaming and threading system


- Threading a pre-wound warp using the SAORI tabletop threading system

– Creative and Expressive weaving – techniques that bring texture, interest and adventure into your cloth


- Garment Design, Draping and Construction – see Sewing your cloth page for detailed class descriptions


- Exploration of 3D Weaving – Cross and Circle weaving- See the possibilities of weaving 3 dimensional structure on your 2 dimensional loom. With clever warp and weft pattern, watch your cloth pop into dimension when you take it off the loom.
